Email verification

What is email verification and why are you asking me to do it?

Email verification is a process that allows us to confirm that you are the owner of the email address that is on your PayByPhone account and that this email is a valid email.  

By verifying that you are the owner of your email address, you are ensuring:

  1. That you never miss any important emails from us simply because of a typo, such as password resets in case you ever forget your password, or if there is ever a service outage in your area, or a security breach that requires your attention
  1. That you have secured your account and nobody else can use your email address to sign up for a PayByPhone account

What do you use my email for?

We use your email as a means to identify you as a PayByPhone member and to ensure you receive important messages and updates from us, such as:

  • Notifications about service or application outages
  • Notifications about security breaches that could affect your personal data
  • Password resets
  • Receipts
  • Updates to the Terms & Conditions and/or Privacy Policies for our application

Verifying your email will not subscribe you to any newsletter or subscription list from PaybyPhone, parking operators, or our partners. You can always set your preferences regarding what types of messages you would like to receive from PayByPhone, parking operators and our partners by signing into the application and going to Settings.

How does email verification work?

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to verify your email:

  1. Inside the application, you may be asked to verify your email. Press “Verify my email” to begin
  2. You will be sent an email with a verification code. Copy the code and paste it into the input field in the PayByPhone application

Note: If you did not receive a verification email, please check your Junk or Spam folder. You should receive your verification email within a few minutes. If not, you can also request a new verification code to be sent to you.  

3. Once you have entered the verification code, press “Submit” and that’s it!

I never added an email on my PayByPhone account, so why am I still being asked to verify my email?

Every PayByPhone user will now have to add a valid email to their PayByPhone account. This is to ensure the security of your account. Please see What is email verification and why are you asking me to do it? for more details

I have not received the verification email, what do I do?

If you are not receiving the verification email, please 1) Check spam, 2) Use another email or, 3) add noreply@paybyphone.com to the 'trusted sender' list 4) reach out to your email server to see if noreply@paybyphone.com is being blocked. If these steps do not help, please contact Support at https://paybyphone.ada.support/chat and confirm the steps you've taken
